A delegation from Widya Mataram University (UWM) and several universities plan to visit Northern Illinois University (NIU) in late August to early September 2024. This was conveyed by Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec., Chancellor of UWM, in his meeting with Professor Eric Jones PhD, Executive Director of Global Initiatives NIU, at De Celine Restaurant Yogyakarta, on Thursday (15/2/2024).
Furthermore, Prof. Edy stated that this was a return visit to UWM, and as an academic and cultural visit to NIU in Chicago, as well as to New York and Washington DC.
“Besides NIU, we visited several other universities in Washington and New York,” said the former Chair of the Indonesian Chancellors Forum.
“The delegation from the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) will be led directly by Dr. (H.C.) GKR Mangkubumi who is also the Treasurer of the Mataram Foundation, and an alumnus from NIU. The visit will also be attended by several universities from Yogyakarta and Surabaya,” continued the former Chairman of the Advisory Council This Chancellor’s Forum.
Eric Jones welcomed UWM’s planned visit to NIU. “We are very happy with this planned visit and hope that this collaboration can provide benefits for both parties,” said Eric.
