Dr. Eric Jones as Executive Director of Global Initiatives Northern Illinois University (NIU) gave a symbolic souvenir to the Chancellor of Widya Mataram University (UWM), Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec. in the Afternoon Break event at the MuseumKu Raharjo Kasongan Embossed Pottery on Wednesday (28/6). This activity was carried out after the awarding of an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters to Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Mangkubumi by NIU at the UWM Integrated Campus on Wednesday (28/6).
Raharjo Kasongan Embossed Pottery Museum, which is used for this activity, has many works of art in the form of paintings, sculptures, and other works of art.
Prof. Edy on this occasion said that UWM’s collaboration with NIU had been carried out some time ago in the form of an international conference. “The conference presented speakers from NIU, UWM, and other universities from within and outside the country,” he added.
This activity was also attended by Laurie Elish-Piper, Ph.D. as Interim Executive Vice President and Provost, Kerry Wilks, Ph.D. as Dean of the Graduate School and AVP of International Affairs NIU, Prof. Robert Brinkmann, Ph.D. who is the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as Dr. (HC) GKR Mangkubumi.
Furthermore, the former Chair of the Association of Private Universities (APTISI) stated that cooperation with NIU would be followed up. “Collaboration with NIU is one of UWM’s commitments to the transformation of higher education,” he said
