The Chancellor of the Rajmanggala University of Technology Krungtep (RMUTK) Prof. Pichai Jammaneeme warmly welcomed the arrival of the leaders of the Private Universities (PTS) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) on his campus in the center of Bangkok. RMUTK has also carried out real collaboration with PT in Indonesia. “Even now there are visiting lecturers from Indonesia, and also six students from Indonesia,” said the MUTK Chancellor when receiving a delegation of 12 Yogyakarta PTS leaders led by the Head of the Region V Higher Education Service Institute (LLDIKTI V) Prof. Aris Junaidi, PhD., Wednesday (17/10/2023).
“Currently, more and more Indonesian students are studying in Thailand, including student exchanges through the Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA),” said Prof. Aris Junaidi.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Institute of Science Innovation and Culture, Dr Yaoping Liu, stated that RMUTK views education as not a matter of money, but rather a matter of society and humanity. “We will not set fees for exchange students, but living and dormitory costs are relatively expensive. This is because RMUTK is in the middle of the city,” he said.
Answering questions from the Chancellor of Widya Mataram University (UWM), Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec., Dr Yaoping Liu stated that it would be very welcome if any UWM students were sent to study one semester at RMUTK. “Our program is in English so there is no need for Thai language preparation,” he said.
As is known, the DIY PTS delegation involved 12 private universities, namely Widya Mataram University (UWM), Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD), Plantation Community Academy, Yogyakarta Maritime College (STIMARYO), YKPN College of Management (STIM), AMIKOM University, University of PGRI, Gunung Kidul University (UGK), Yogyakarta National Institute of Technology (ITNY), Guna Bangsa College of Health Sciences (STIKES), Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta (UAJY), and Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta (UNISA). “We will continue to collaborate with Mahidol University and Bandid Kasem University,” concluded Dr. Wegig Pratama, M.Pd., who is the Secretary of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities (APTISI) V.
